Founders Kaylan Buteyn and Meredith C. Bullock are excited to share with you their knowledge and experience as artists pursuing their careers with dedication and passion while simultaneously crafting meaningful moments as mothers of small children. Both originally from upstate NY but never crossing paths until they moved to Tennessee, Kaylan and Meredith met on their first retreat together in 2015. It wasn't long before they started to vision plan for an artistic community; a group of artists who were encouraging, inspiring and supportive of one another. In 2017 Kaylan and Meredith founded Courageous Creative and that spring hosted their first Courageous Creative Retreat together in a beautiful lakeside home with 10 talented artists. Since then, Courageous Creative has grown to include classes and workshops, yearly retreats, useful resources for artists, and a growing community.

Our biggest accomplishment yet is the Studio Planner for Artists we wrote and designed completely ourselves. Responding to a need in our own lives to have a planner that helps us organize and goal set for our art careers, in the spring of 2017 we decided we could be the ones to create such a product! We have worked diligently as partners and friends for the past 8 months to create a planner that we believe will transform the studio practice of artists who use it- giving them the freedom to dream big, the confidence to accomplish their goals and a plan of action to have their best year yet! You can find more information about all the the Studio Planner for Artists includes on our product page.

In large measure becoming an artist consists of learning to accept yourself, which makes your work personal, and in following your own voice, which makes your work distinctive.
